Welcome New Parents

CONGRATULATIONS upon the birth of your child! It is our desire to help you gain information and support for the journey that lies ahead. Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky would like to welcome you and your new baby to our community. We are an organization of parents and families who have loved ones born with Down Syndrome. Like most of us when our children were born, you were wondering what Down Syndrome will mean to your new baby and your family. We are here to offer support and resources to assist you in your journey.

We would like to provide you with some information as there are many opportunities and therapies available to assist your family. Most of these services come with no cost to you. Through experience, we know early intervention is the key to your child’s success. Today, more than ever, the future is bright for your child!

We understand that right now you may be feeling overwhelemed and experiencing many different emotions. You will discover that your child, like any child, will possess his/her own unique gifts and talents. Down Syndrome does not define your child or what he/she might achieve. Your child is wonderfully and miraculously made, and the future holds endless possibilities for this beautiful new baby!
